Whether you are a customer or not, by browsing our websites, we may be collecting personal data through "cookies".
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file that is downloaded to your computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device with information when you access certain web pages and allow, among other things, to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their equipment.
The set of cookies from all our users helps us to improve the quality of our website, allowing us to monitor which pages are useful, which are not and which can be improved.
They are essential for the functioning of the Internet, providing countless advantages in the provision of interactive services, facilitating the navigation and usability of our website. Under no circumstances would they damage your equipment. On the other hand, the fact that they are active helps us to identify and resolve errors.
Depending on who is the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and treats the data obtained, two types can be distinguished:
First-party cookies: those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the editor itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: those that are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a computer or domain that is not managed by the editor, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client's browser, which may be:
Session cookies: designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that only needs to be kept for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion.
Persistent cookies: the data remains stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
Finally, there is another classification according to the purpose for which the data obtained are processed:
Technical: these are necessary for browsing and the proper functioning of the website. They allow, for example, to control traffic and data communication, authenticate users, prevent the fraudulent use of login credentials and protect user data from unauthorised third parties, access restricted areas, use security elements, store content in order to broadcast videos or share content through social networks.
Personalisation: they allow access to the service with predefined characteristics according to a series of criteria, such as language, type of browser used to access, etc...
Analytical/behavioural: These are those that allow the person responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of the users of the websites to which they are linked. They make it possible to quantify the number of users and thus carry out the measurement and statistical analysis of the use made by users of the services provided.
Browsing: they store information on user behaviour obtained through continuous observation. Thanks to them, it is possible to know the internet browsing habits and show advertising related to your browsing profile.
